Top 2007 SSA Bond Deal
In what may be Illinois' largest Special Service Area (SSA) bond financing of 2007, Gould & Ratner served as counsel to the developer in connection with the Village of Hampshire in Kane County, Illinois issue and sale of $75 million Special Service Area Bonds. While residential developers have been using SSA financings in recent years to finance the costs of public subdivision improvements, this transaction was unique because proceeds from the sale of the bonds will be used to pay costs for expansion of the Village's water and waste water infrastructure that will serve not only the developer's three new planned communities but other land as well. Gould & Ratner attorneys Virginia Harding, John Mays and Laura Smith assisted the firm's developer client in the transaction.
